Slow computer

Common Causes

  • Viruses and/or spyware

  • Restart computer
  • Uninstall unnecessary software
  • Bring into our shop for service

Computer wont start

Common Causes

  • Bad power supply
  • Bad motherboard (or other hardware)
  • Unplugged

  • Make sure it's plugged-in to a working outlet
  • Check for loose wires
  • Bring into our shop for service

Software doesn't work

Common Causes

  • Temporarily locked-up
  • Corrupt files
  • Virus/spyware infection

Recommended Action

  • Restart computer
  • Reinstall software (be sure to backup files)
  • Bring into our shop for service
    • Signature Service: virus & spyware, removal, computer optimization and hardware diagnostics
    • Classic Service: virus & spyware removal, computer optimization

Hardware doesn't work - external hard drives, printers, CD/DVD ROM or burner, monitor, sound card, keyboard, mouse...

Common Causes

  • Loose wire connections
  • Failing hardware (needs replacement)
  • Dirty
  • Incorrect drivers

  • Check for loose connections
  • Dust-out computer
  • Bring into our shop for service
    • Shop Service: Hardware diagnostics and optimization
  • Schedule an on-site appointment with CPC
    • Hourly troubleshooting rate
    • Optional pickup and delivery service

Problem connecting to the Internet

Common Causes

  • Loose wires
  • Router/modem is locked-up
  • Router/modem is bad and needs to be replaced
  • Provider's connection is down
  • Unpaid bill
  • Corrupt network files on the computer

Recommended Action

  • Check wiring
  • Restart router/modem
  • Restart computer
  • Check with provider to see if they are experiencing problems
  • Schedule an on-site appointment with CPC
